From her extensive background in classical dance forms, Leela brings fun and excitement to her popular performance style, delighting her audiences with her contagious enthusiasm and playfulness. LeelaBellyDance Productions has performed to enchanted audiences internationally, receiving rave reviews for their imaginative and inventive original style, humor and choreography. Leela’s teaching deeply engages each dancer in both her individual experience and the shared magic of the group. “I became a bellydancer at 38. People thought I was crazy,” said Leela, who is proudly still rocking the stage at 67. “Years later, my audience has grown by leaps and bounds, my classes are vibrant and thriving.” She encourages students to, “Come play!”
